1929 $10 National Banknote from The Gold Standard National Bank of Marienville Pennsylvania

$225.00

Here’s a sweet national banknote with a great title. 1929 $10 National Banknote from The Gold Standard National Bank of Marienville Pennsylvania, Fine condition. Marienville is a small community in northwestern Pennsylvania known as the gateway to the Allegheny National Forest. The “Gold Standard” title is entirely unique to this institution, meaning out of the over 14,000 chartered issuing national banks, this is the only one with the “Gold Standard” title. It proclaimed the bank’s strength and stability, and justifiably so as it managed to survive the Great Depression. The note provides a good segue for entry level collectors to get into more intermediate material. Only 28 small size notes are reported to the census on the bank, desirable title for people who appreciate the history of the gold standard along with national banknote collectors looking for unique titles, and priced fairly considering the most recent comparable sale for a similar note was just 2 months ago for $288 in a heritage auction. If you haven’t started collecting national banknotes yet, consider it! Lots of value to be had in relatively to much of the other material on the market, and deeper personal connections to notes are much more likely. We have an extensive selection of national banknotes that is constantly changing, feel free to reach out with any interests.
